Lantronix CD-ROM EZCon provides a graphical user interface to configure and manage Lantronix server products. Current supported platforms include the LRS1, LRS2, LRS16, LRS32, EPS1, EPS2, EPS2P2, EPS4P1, MPS1, LPS1 and MSS1. EZCon runs on several platforms. Windows 95/NT (32-bit Windows) ------------------------------ The 32-bit Windows version of EZCon is shipped as a windows installer and also as a self-extracting file named EZCON32.EXE. EZCon requires the following environment: Windows 95 or Windows NT 3.5 or greater For Novell NetWare support(Windows 95 only): NetWare Client32 for Windows 95 NetWare file server V3.11 or greater. Bindery support is required for auto-location of servers. For TCP/IP support: Built-in TCP/IP support provided with operating system. You need at least one of the protocols in order to use EZCon to configure your servers. Note that a Client32 for Windows NT is not available as of April 15, 1996. To install the Windows 95/NT version of EZCon: 1) On the target PC create a directory called INSTALL. (e.g., C:\INSTALL) 2) Move the EZCONW32.EXE file to the directory just created. 3) While in the INSTALL directory, execute EZCON32.EXE. The EZCon installer will expand into a set of installation files. 4) Start windows. (or return to Windows) 5) Select Run from the File menu in the Program Manager. 6) Enter the complete path to the INSTALL directory followed by a backslash and then setup. (e.g., C:\INSTALL\SETUP) 7) Select the OK button in the dialog window. 8) The standard Windows installer will execute. Follow the on- screen instructions to install the EZCon package. 9) After the installation is successful, the INSTALL directory can be removed. Run EZCon by double clicking on the EZCon icon in the program manager. See the EZCon help for further information on how to use EZCon and its capabilities. Windows (16 Bit Windows 3.1) ---------------------------- The windows version of EZCon is shipped as a windows installer and also as a self-extracting file named EZCONWIN.EXE. If you are running Windows 95 or Windows NT, you should use the 32-bit version of EZCon instead. EZCon requires either a Netware environment or a Winsock compliant TCP/IP stack. Windows 3.1 or Windows 3.11 for Workgroups For Novell NetWare support: NetWare VLM or NETX client NetWare file server V3.11 or greater. Bindery support is required for auto-location of servers. Macintosh --------- The Macintosh version of EZCon is shipped as an installer and also in .hqx.sit format for transferring between machines. EZCon requires the following environment: MacOS V6.07 or greater MacTCP 2.0.6 or Open Transport/TCP for TCP/IP connectivity This version of EZCon is a 68K binary, but runs in emulation mode on Power Macintoshes. To install the Macintosh version of EZCon: 1) Double-click on the installer application and follow the on-screen instructions. If the distribution CD is mounted on a Unix or DOS platform, copy the ezconsit.hqx archive file in binary mode to the Macintosh. After un-binhexing and un-stuffing the archive, install by double-clicking on the installer application. Run EZCon by double clicking on the EZCon icon. The executables for each architecture type and the OS version used to create the binaries are: SunOS ---- V4.1.3 Solaris -- V2.5 HP/UX ---- V9.05 AIX ------ V4.1 To install the Unix version of EZCon: 1) Become super-user. 2) Execute the install script EZinst. The script will ask a series of questions and then will install the EZCon executables. Run EZCon by executing the ezcon program.
