When Command Mode is enabled on a Serial Line, the Command Line Interface (CLI) is attached to the line. Command Mode can be enabled in a number of ways.

The Always boolean specifies whether or not Command Mode is always enabled for the Serial Line. When this is turned on, Command Mode is immediately enabled.

The Use Serial String boolean specifies enabling Command Mode when a specific string of characters is read on the Serial Line during boot time.

The Use CP Group boolean specifies enabling Command Mode based on the status of a CP Group. When the value matches the current value of the group, Command Mode is enabled on the Serial Line.

The Signon Message is a string of bytes that is sent on the Serial Line during boot time.

The Serial String is a string of bytes that must be read on the Serial Line during boot time in order to enable Command Mode.

The Wait Time specifies the amount of time to wait during boot time for the Serial String. This timer starts right after the Signon Message has been sent on the Serial Line.
