You can test a com port connection to a Lantronix device server. If you enable RFC2217, you can test serial port settings as well.
Notes:
You can only test one com port at a time.
Make sure your Lantronix device server supports RFC2217 before attempting to enable it. To find out whether a device server supports RFC2217, refer to your device server's user guide or the Lantronix web site (www.lantronix.com).
To test a com port connection to a Lantronix device server:
Select the com port and click the Com Tests tab.
To open a connection, click the Open button. The current Com Status displays to the right of the Open/Close button. The com port attempts to connect to the first host server on the Settings tab. If the connection succeeds, Network Status displays the current status between CPR and the device server
In the RS232 group, click the RTS and DTR (for incoming data flow) buttons to toggle the standard control settings between High (0) and Low (1) and verify that the connection is working properly. Rx Data displays the number of characters received, and Rx EOF displays the number of EOF characters received.
